pele.wiki is an independent learning site and live demo gallery for Pele, the Mermaid renderer by kepano.

Credits

• Pele is © 2026 kepano, MIT license. Source: github.com/obsidianmd/pele. Official docs, playground and examples: pele.run. Announced by kepano on X on 17 October 2026, and built for Obsidian (obsidianmd on GitHub).
• Mermaid syntax and Mermaid.js are by the Mermaid team, MIT license: mermaid.js.org.
• The Pele logo is kepano's, from the Pele repository, used here only to name the project.
• Fonts: Montserrat, Merriweather and Commit Mono, all under the SIL Open Font License (licences).
• Some gallery examples come from Mermaid's documentation (MIT), through Pele's test suite.

Who we are

pele.wiki is made by En Dash Consulting, who also make handwired.wiki. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Obsidian or kepano.

How the demos work

Every demo runs a pinned version of the real pele package from npm, currently 1.6.0, and, where compared, the real Mermaid.js 12.1.0 with securityLevel: 'strict' and its base theme coloured to match this site. Times are measured in your browser, so they depend on your device.
